Savouring Pulses Event Returns to Edmonton - May 10-16, 2010

Alberta Pulse Growers encourage you to dine out the week of May 10-16 and enjoy a Savouring Pulses meal.

 

Great taste, foods grown close to home, and healthy cuisine will be happily united at several fine Edmonton and area restaurants. The Chefs at Madison’s Grill, Blue Pear Restaurant, Wildflower Grill and Café Haven have created unique dishes with pulses, which include dry peas, beans, lentils and chickpeas, for a one week promotion running from May 10 to 16, 2010.

 

Savouring Pulses is building on the success of previous Edmonton and Calgary restaurant promotions that showcased the range of pulses as an ingredient in fine dining.  This event is an opportunity to appreciate the versatility of pulses, in a variety of flavorful experiences that range from Chef Blair Lebsack’s duck confit with a warm lentil salad or perhaps taco soup with mixed Alberta beans at Café Haven in Sherwood Park. Other savoury pulse dishes featured include Alberta lamb meatballs with a chickpea ragout at Madison’s Grill, or treat yourself to a weekend brunch dish of pea butter waffles with caramelized bananas at Café Haven. Pea butter is a locally made nut free peanut butter replacement.
